Artist's Comments

A bit too sharp in thumbnail view, but up close it proves its point.

The name says it all. I was experimenting with abstract photogrphy and this cam to mind. My second photo taken by me, please use constructive critisism only. C'mon, bring it! :) (Smile)

Crazy idea, turned out nice though. I like the focal point, how the rim of the bottle is blurry but the inside is in focus. Its kinda neat too because you can actually see your finders in the reflection. Nice work again.

I agree with laroose. Seeing your fingers in the reflection has a neat effect. The idea is wonderful, I don't know how you can come up with these. The shot is just as wonderful as the idea.

Ouh, I only recently did stuff **exactly** like this, taking shots inside bottles, spooky! Mine were less then successful so I didn't post them but this is quite interesting...couple of points to think about though...firstly the quality of the photo is letting this work down badly, it's a very grainy shot, couldn't rightly say why that is, my technical knowledge of photography isn't great, maybe it's just that the camera's having trouble focusing because most of my bottle shots came out grainy too. Also I am not liking the writing in the bottom of the bottle, I am thinking it prevents this piece from being abstract, they're distracting, reminds us that this is really just a bottle...maybe try bottles without that in the bottom...maybe an idea might be to put things in the bottom to cover that, say a dark liquid and then blow bubbles in in, I don't know... For my shots I was using old bottles that had weathered and had dirt and dead bugs in the bottom and they were opaque...but I like what you've done with yours, the play of colours throught the translucent bottle are interesting as is the light falling on and through the bottle. However to give this photo a bit more oomph maybe try increasing the contrast in Photoshop, at present it's very midtoney..no real strong darks, fiddling with contrast might fix that up for you.

But anyway a very interesting idea, wierd that we're both doing the same thing :o. I'm definately going to experiment with this idea futher, hope you do too. Might do that liquid in the bottom idea...just thought of that now.
